Job Description
CPA Services is seeking a Specialist – Financial Management & Accounting Services to support nonprofit organizations in strengthening financial systems, compliance, grant management, and organizational processes. The role involves conducting financial assessments, providing advisory services, building organizational capacity, and ensuring sound accounting and reporting practices while working closely with NGOs and development sector partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Systems Assessment: Review accounting systems, financial management practices, internal controls, and documentation of nonprofit organizations while identifying improvement opportunities.
- Policy & Process Development: Support the development and implementation of financial policies, SOPs, reporting formats, and internal control mechanisms.
- Organizational Assessments: Conduct pre-funding assessments, evaluate governance and compliance systems, prepare assessment reports, and support partner reviews.
- Capacity Building: Design and facilitate training programs on accounting, financial management, compliance, reporting, and organizational strengthening.
- Client Advisory: Engage with nonprofit clients, understand financial requirements, provide advisory support, and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
- Grant Management: Support grant budgeting, utilization tracking, financial monitoring, donor reporting, and compliance with grant requirements.
- Accounting & Reporting: Maintain books of accounts, reconciliations, payroll documentation, financial statements, project-wise accounting records, budget monitoring, and audit-ready financial documentation.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, Legal Studies, or a related field. CA Inter, ICWA, or other professional finance qualifications are preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 4 years of experience in financial management, accounting, audit, advisory services, or nonprofit organizations.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of accounting systems, budgeting, financial reporting, internal controls, Income Tax, FCRA, Labour Laws, and statutory compliance.
- Skills: Excellent analytical, documentation, stakeholder management, report writing, and capacity-building skills.
- Core Competencies: Communication, teamwork, stakeholder management, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Languages: Proficiency in Hindi and English.
